KeySplint Hard and KeySplint Soft Appliances

Proper care helps maintain the fit, clarity, and longevity of your appliance. Follow the instructions below to keep your appliance clean and functioning properly.

Daily Cleaning

Clean your appliance before and after each use.

1. Rinse the appliance under cool or lukewarm water.

2. Use an approved cleaning agent and a soft-bristle toothbrush to gently clean all surfaces.

3. Rinse thoroughly before placing the appliance back in your mouth or storing it.

Approved Cleaning Agents

• Dawn® dish soap

• Polident®

• Efferdent®

• 3% hydrogen peroxide solution

• Non-alcohol mouthwash

If soaking is desired, limit soak time to no more than 10 minutes and rinse the appliance thoroughly before wearing.

Important Care Instructions

• Do not soak the appliance for longer than 10 minutes.

• Do not expose the appliance to hot water.

• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents such as toothpaste.

• Do not expose the appliance to prolonged sunlight or UV light.

• Dispose of cleaning solutions after each use.

• Always rinse the appliance thoroughly before wearing.

Heat exposure can cause distortion or warping of the appliance.

Handling and Storage

• Remove the appliance before eating.

• Avoid drinking hot liquids while wearing the appliance.

• After cleaning, dry the appliance before storing it in its case.

• Store the appliance in a cool, dry location when not in use.
